Val LaMotte

With more than 30 years of experience in interior design, Val Lamotte brings a classic, client-focused approach rooted in fine art, thoughtful listening, and a love for timeless design. After years working in graphic design, high-end design and furniture showrooms, and running her own design business, Val joined Gorman’s to return to the collaborative energy of showroom interior design and sales.

She works closely with clients to understand how they live, what they love, and what they truly need, guiding them at their own pace and helping them focus on one project at a time. Color, composition, texture, natural fibers inspire her designs.

Known especially for her expertise in custom window treatments and heritage furniture lines like Stickley, Val is a go-to for clients looking for depth, warmth, and detail in their homes. Her background in Dale Carnegie and DISC training adds to her strength in building trust and understanding with every client.

Outside of Gorman’s, Val expresses her creativity through her own handcrafted home décor line featuring botanical arrangements and barnwood accents. Her personal design style is personal, tailored, and enduring–never trend-driven, always focused on quality and comfort.
