“Get what you like, not what’s the current trend” is Scott Hastings design advice to his clients.
He believes that his choice of a career in interior design was influenced by his childhood summer visits, every other year, to his grandparents in England, where they took him to visit antique stores and toured castles. His personal design taste runs traditional, although he is open to what his clients wish for their spaces, asking “lots of questions” to discover their style.
Scott received his degree in fine arts with a concentration in interior architecture at Wayne State University and has a diploma in cabinet making and millwork.
“I like doing things hands on,” Scott said. His favorite magazine, which provides continuing design inspiration, is “Architectural Digest.”
