“You’ve got to ask lots of questions,” Leon Pawlowski said. That is his approach to understanding the scope of his clients’ visions before beginning each design project.
Now an expert of the craft, Leon got his start in the furniture and design industry in 1972, while working in the stock room at a Montgomery Ward department store. Someone retired in the furniture department, he filled the position -- and his career of more than five decades was launched. In 1999, Leon joined the Gorman’s team, where he has served a wide range of clients in the Novi showroom, with a specialty in designing bedrooms.
Although Leon is well-versed in many styles to present to clients, his personal style leans more contemporary. Leon stays on top of current industry trends by reading trade magazines, like “Furniture Today,” and even scoping out the competition.
“Come on in, I’ll be glad to show you around and we’ll find out what’s right for you,” he said.
