Carol Martens

Childhood trips to The Detroit Institute of Arts and the furniture department at Hudson's Northland is what Carol Martens credits for sparking her passion of art and design at a young age.

Carol studied interior design, fashion design and fashion merchandising at Bauder Fashion College in Texas, as well as art and art history at the University of Toledo. In a nod to her early years, she worked at Hudson's Northland, starting in the clearance center and then transitioning to the main sales floor. Carol also worked at the Toledo Museum of Art and in retail management, as well as helping her husband grow a business.

On the Gorman's team since 2017, Carol designs collaboratively with her clients to reach the desired outcome in their homes and spaces, respectful of their budget and comfort level.

“I just want their house or space to look gorgeous, and we do whatever it takes to get it there,” she says.

An artist at heart, Carol expresses herself through various mediums such as oil, charcoal, watercolors, ink, mixed media and more.
