Barbara Gaber

Interior Designer

The architecture of a space is the initial inspiration for Interior Designer Barbara Gaber’s work. From there, she works “in harmony” with her clients to integrate the shell of a room with furnishings, unique décor and eye-catching textures to accommodate their vision and their budget.

“People understand beauty when they see it,” Barbara said.

Barbara joined the Gorman’s team in 1993, at the Southfield showroom, after studying fine arts at the University of Michigan and interior design at Wayne State University.

After eight years in Southfield, she expanded her expertise serving as a senior designer at Macy’s and then owned and operated her own design company. She has utilized her talents and creative insight on an array of large design projects, most notably the “spectacular” and award-winning “Piku House” on West Bloomfield’s Pine Lake. After returning to Gorman’s in September of 2022, she now works at the Novi showroom.

Additionally, Barbara is an abstract painter and furniture designer, earning awards for her artwork; her designs have been published in “Style Magazine” and “The Oakland Press,” among others.
